Determine what you can streamline or even remove entirely. Perhaps you’ll decide to keep distracting apps on your phone, but use your tablet for productivity-only.

6. Use the Simplest App Possible

Sometimes complex apps make a difference in our work, like the wonderful benefits of Expensify and CardMunch. Other times, we spend much more time than we realize trying to develop a new process in order to work efficiently in an unfamiliar format. Evaluate your approach constantly, and determine whether that latest app is actually costing you more time than you realized. It may be beneficial to commit to using the simplest tool at all times, whether that’s a brand-new app from the iStore or a simple notebook and paper.

7. Do One Thing at a Time

When you multitask, you can’t perform at the highest level possible. Your mental and physical energy are dedicated to splitting your focus, instead of truly giving all of your effort towards a single task. Your work suffers, and you’ll spend more time jumping in between tasks. Stop multitasking, and resist the temptation to pick this nasty habit back up.
